The Action Democratic Party (ADP) candidate for the Kachia/Kagarko Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections, Pastor Ishaya Auta, has pledged to prioritise security, education and rural electrification if elected.
Auta made the pledge on Saturday while unveiling his manifesto to constituents in Kachia, Kaduna State.
He said the constituency had suffered years of inadequate representation, depriving residents of the dividends of democracy and effective governance.
“If elected, I will partner with the executive arms of government at both the federal and state levels, traditional rulers, community leaders and other relevant stakeholders to ensure lasting security, peace and stability for our people,” he said.
Highlighting key areas of his manifesto, Auta promised to pursue comprehensive rural electrification across the constituency.
He also pledged to revitalise the education sector by launching a “Go Back to School” campaign, while championing massive infrastructure development to improve the standard of living of residents.
Reacting to the manifesto, a political stakeholder in the constituency, Eugene Peter, described the document as timely, saying the area urgently needed competent and effective representation at the National Assembly.
According to Peter, the people of the constituency value justice, equity and fairness, adding that voters would make their choice based on competence, capacity and credibility rather than political party affiliation.
Speaking on behalf of women in the constituency, Mercy Yakubu, a resident of Kachia, assured the ADP candidate of their support, citing his passion and commitment to public service.
She, however, urged Auta not to forget widows, orphans and other vulnerable members of society if elected.
Also speaking on behalf of the youth, Manji Apollos of Kurmin Musa Ward in Kachia Local Government Area described Auta as a beacon of hope and expressed confidence in his chances of winning the election.
