Adele Breaks Down in Tears as Céline Dion Joins Her at Las Vegas Residency (VIDEO)

In a touching moment during her Las Vegas residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, Adele, 36, was brought to tears when she spotted fellow superstar Céline Dion, 56, in the audience on Saturday, October 26.

As Adele performed her hit When We Were Young, she noticed Dion seated in a side box of the 4,100-seat venue.

Captured in fan footage posted online, Adele was visibly moved, pausing mid-performance to embrace Dion.

The two shared a heartfelt exchange as Dion gently held Adele’s face and kissed her hand before Adele returned to the stage.

“Give it up for Ms. Céline Dion,” Adele called to the crowd, which responded with enthusiastic applause.

Wiping away tears, Dion, accompanied by her sons Nelson and Eddy Angélil, stood and waved to the audience. Over the years, the two artistes have shared a mutual admiration, with Adele later referring to Dion as “one of my favorite people of all time.”

Céline Dion is no stranger to The Colosseum stage, which she helped put on the map with her first Las Vegas residency. Beginning in March 2003, Dion performed 717 shows over four years. She returned to the venue for a second stint in 2011, delivering another 424 shows before wrapping up in June 2019.

However, in December 2022, Dion revealed she had been diagnosed with stiff person syndrome (SPS), a rare neurological disorder causing muscle stiffness and painful spasms, forcing her to cancel her Las Vegas residency planned for 2021.

Despite the challenges of SPS, Dion made a return to performing in summer 2024, closing the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics with a breathtaking performance atop the Eiffel Tower.

In a rare public appearance shortly after, Dion took the stage at City of Hope’s Spirit of Life Gala in Los Angeles, presenting the  Spirit of Life Award to Jay Marciano, CEO of AEG Presents. “This is the first time I’ve been on a stage since I was up on that tower,” she quipped.

In 2018, Adele attended Dion’s Las Vegas show, later sharing her excitement on Instagram with a heartfelt post: “Queen Céline! What a show, an absolute highlight of my life, thank you so much for the attention to your crowd and insane humor. Happy New Year lady x.”

Dion reciprocated the love with a social media post at the time, saying, “I love her so much!!”

In November 2022, Adele launched Weekends With Adele, a residency that has since become one of the most popular shows on the Strip, attracting sell-out crowds.

However, the show has also taken a toll on Adele, who announced in July that she would take a “big break” from music after her residency ends in November 2023.

“I just need a rest. I have spent the last seven years building a new life for myself, and I want to live it now,” she told fans during a performance in Munich earlier this year. “I will miss you terribly.”
