The National Publicity Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Bolaji Abdullahi, has raised alarm over an alleged attempt by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to disrupt an opposition summit in Ibadan, Oyo State, scheduled for Saturday.
In a statement issued on Saturday morning, Abdullahi claimed that the APC was behind efforts to frustrate the gathering after being previously denied access to venues in Abuja.
The ADC spokesperson stated that the ruling party’s actions demonstrated a clear pattern of interference designed to weaken opposition activities.
Accusing the APC of hypocrisy, Abdullahi pointed out that although the ruling party publicly asserts that it is not threatened by opposition, its actions speak otherwise.
Despite these allegations, Abdullahi emphasized that the ADC and its coalition partners would proceed with the summit, asserting their commitment to representing the Nigerian people. He concluded, “We will not be deterred because we are on the side of the Nigerian people.”
