The Chairman of the Abuja Tech and Digital Economy Week (ATDEW) Steering Committee, Andrew Abu, says the event will connect investors and technology companies with development opportunities at Abuja Technology Village.
Abu disclosed this on Monday in an interview, saying the 2026 edition would be themed “Energising Smart Mobility: Powering Cities of the Future.”
He said stronger linkages among innovators, investors and infrastructure providers were critical to transforming Nigeria’s technological innovations into jobs, products and services that could drive the digital economy.
“Nigeria has no shortage of innovative young people. Our responsibility is to build the bridge between ideas, infrastructure, investment, deployment and scale.
“Our engagement with Abuja Technology Village is part of that strategy,” he said.
According to Abu, the partnership is designed to stimulate economic activity by showcasing market-ready innovations, facilitating investment deals and positioning Abuja as a hub for smart-city and technology investments.
He said ATDEW would promote job creation, support startups, attract venture capital and private equity, and facilitate the commercialisation of research.
The committee chairman added that the event would provide a platform for the government and the private sector to align on policies to reduce the cost of doing business in the technology sector.
Abu said selected innovators from the National Innovation Challenge would also gain access to technology infrastructure and incubation opportunities.
He said participants would benefit from mentorship, pilot opportunities and commercialisation support at the Science and Technology Park.
According to him, the management of Abuja Technology Village had welcomed the proposed collaboration and expressed readiness to work with the steering committee on a formal partnership framework.
NAN reports that ATDEW 2026 is expected to attract at least 7,000 delegates, including policymakers, investors, startups and development partners.

The event will feature an exhibition, an “Investor Deal Room” and an investment forum focusing on smart mobility, clean energy, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and digital infrastructure.
ATDEW 2026 will be hosted by Young Innovators of Nigeria in collaboration with the Rural Electrification Agency and the Nigeria Computer Society.
