In a dazzling display of unity, transformation, and gastronomic delight, the Isoko Reformed Legacy Foundation’s Abuja Chapter concluded the year with an electrifying get-together at the prestigious Citizen Hotel in Kubwa, Abuja yesterday.
The event was graced by the charismatic State Chairman, Mr. Owhe Philippe, whose impassioned address ignited the flame of change within the hearts of the attendees. Mr. Philippe emphatically stressed the need for a paradigm shift, declaring, “To change the mindset of our people back home, we must first revolutionize our own thinking.”
In a riveting revelation, Mr. Philippe disclosed ambitious plans for the coming year, promising a wave of changes and innovations that would redefine the organization’s impact. He urged members to brace themselves for a transformational journey, emphasizing that the future held boundless possibilities for those willing to embrace change.
The zenith of the event arrived when a five-member ‘Vote of Confidence Committee,’ presided over by the indomitable Stanley Ugagbe, in a unanimous and resounding declaration, passed a vote of confidence on the caretaker committee, advocating for their automatic assumption of the leadership position.
Stanley Ugagbe, who read the resolution by the ‘Vote of Confidence Committee,’ commended the caretaker committee for their exceptional performance since they came on board.
In part, the resolution reads “From the moment the caretaker committee assumed responsibility, they have exhibited unparalleled dedication, unwavering focus, and an unyielding commitment to the ideals of the Isoko Reformed Legacy Foundation. Their leadership has been marked by transparency, accountability, and an unrelenting pursuit of excellence.
“Instead of merely maintaining the status quo, the caretaker committee has taken bold steps to initiate innovative programs and projects that have significantly impacted the lives of the beneficiaries. Their visionary approach and forward-thinking strategies have not only revitalized the foundation but have also positioned it as a beacon of competence in the non-profit sector”.
It added that “Considering the commendable job done by the caretaker committee, it is only logical and in the best interest of the foundation to forego the conventional election process. The committee has already proven its mettle, and subjecting the organization to the uncertainties of an election may disrupt the momentum gained and introduce unnecessary challenges.
“Therefore, we propose that the current caretaker committee automatically assume the leadership positions within the Isoko Reformed Legacy Foundation, Abuja Chapter. This move will not only ensure continuity but also solidify the foundation’s standing as a force for positive change in the community”.
The house erupted in thunderous applause as members, with a unanimous voice, endorsed the proposal, solidifying the caretaker committee’s ascendancy to the leadership role. The decision reflected the foundation’s commitment to meritocracy and recognition of excellence.
Amidst the serious deliberations, the event was not without moments of joy and indulgence. The aroma of Banga soup and starch wafted through the air, signaling a feast of epic proportions. Attendees were treated to a surplus of delicacies, creating an atmosphere of camaraderie and satisfaction.
As the night unfolded, it became evident that the Isoko Reformed Legacy Foundation’s Abuja Chapter had not only marked the end of the year but had set the stage for a promising future. The combination of visionary leadership, unanimous support, and culinary delights left an indelible mark on the hearts and minds of those in attendance.
