Afrobeats sweetheart Teni has delivered a firm message to persistent money-seekers, urging them to reconsider their actions and “fear God.”
Taking to her Instagram on March 19, 2024, the singer humorously dubbed the incessant beggars as the “Beggars Association,” calling for a change in their behavior.
Addressing the group, she exclaimed, “Who is the president of the Beggars Association of Nigeria? You’ve lost your conscience; you no longer fear God.”
Expressing her frustration, Teni highlighted how these individuals repeatedly request funds without showing concern for her well-being. She also expressed astonishment at their audacity to ask for donations in foreign currencies like USD and pounds, emphasizing the lack of empathy in their approach.

Teni’s sentiments echo those of veteran Nollywood actor Chinedu Ikedieze, popularly known as Aki, who vented on Instagram in July 2023 about the overwhelming requests flooding his DMs, likening them to turning his inbox into a “Bank of Industry.”
Both artists implore these persistent beggars to reconsider their actions and show more respect and consideration towards others.
