Bayern Munich have been in contact with 27-year-old Martin Odegaard representatives for several years, and the player is willing to join the German giants.
Arsenal want to extend Odegaard’s contract, which runs through to 2028, but could sell the midfielder next summer if talks do not go well.
The News Chronicle reports that Odegaard is happy at Arsenal and is enjoying his time under Mikel Arteta, however, the interest from Bayern could cause problems for the club wanting to ensure his long-term future at the club. Other elite European clubs are also keeping an eye on the situation.
The midfielder has become more important after a disrupted season due to injury, and has chipped in with four goals and an assist in competitions so far during the 2026/27 campaign.
Odegaard recently played for the Gunners against Bayern, who he drew 2-2 in the Champions League. Declan Rice scored a stoppage-time equaliser.
The Gunners now need to look ahead to their clash at Anfield against Liverpool after they suffered a shock defeat in the Carabao Cup to League Two side Fleetwood Town.
