LAUTECH Lecturers Declare Indefinite Strike Over Unpaid Entitlements

—

Academic staff at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Oyo State, have embarked on an indefinite strike over the non-implementation of a 2025 agreement and the non-payment of outstanding entitlements.

The strike is scheduled to begin at midnight on Thursday, according to a statement issued by the university’s academic staff union.

The statement was signed by the union’s Chairman, Professor Olujimi Dada, and Secretary, Dr Soji Arinola.

The union said the decision was reached at an emergency congress held on Wednesday following the failure to implement the 2025 agreement between the Federal Government and the union, as well as the outstanding payments owed to its members.

Consequently, the union directed all its members to suspend academic activities across the institution.

“The suspension covers lectures, examinations, statutory meetings, laboratory work, teaching and other interactions with students,” the statement said.
