—

A suspected member of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), his wife and sons have surrendered to troops in Pulka, Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State.

Counterterrorism expert Zagazola Makama disclosed this in a statement posted on X on Friday.

According to Makama, the surrender occurred on October 21 at the Forward Operating Base (FOB) in Pulka.

He said the suspected terrorist surrendered to troops of the 192 Battalion (Motorised), under the 26 Task Force Brigade.

Makama added that preliminary investigations showed that the family had escaped from the Wuja terrorist enclave in the Mandara Mountains before surrendering to the troops.
