Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has recalled his teenage years, revealing that he began engaging in spiritual activities, including “casting out demons,” when he was about 17.
Okpebholo spoke during a church service at The Votage Church, where he reflected on his youth, spiritual experiences and his understanding of insecurity and cultism.

Addressing young worshippers, the governor said seeing them in church brought back memories of his own teenage years and early involvement in spiritual activities.
“When I see young ones standing in the presence of God, I remember at 17, 18, I had also started casting out demons,” he said.
Okpebholo said his experiences growing up had given him a personal understanding of some of the challenges confronting young people, particularly insecurity and cult-related activities.
“Fighting insecurity, especially cultism, is not a new thing to me. It is something that has been happening,” the governor said.
He also spoke about the influence of the late Archbishop Benson Idahosa on his spiritual upbringing, highlighting the role the renowned clergyman played in shaping his early religious experiences.
