Veteran actor Richard Mofe-Damijo, popularly known as RMD, has celebrated fellow actress, director and producer Joke Silva as she clocks 65.
RMD shared the birthday tribute on his verified Instagram page, @mofedamijo, describing Silva as his “younger sister” and reflecting on their friendship and professional relationship spanning more than 40 years.
The actor acknowledged Silva’s grief following the death of her husband and fellow veteran actor, Olu Jacobs, while commending her enduring contributions to Nigeria’s creative industry.
“Even as you mourn the love of your life, Uncle Jay, we are reminded of your life of grace, your dedication and your love of not just family, but your craft and your country,” RMD wrote.
He described Silva’s impact on the entertainment industry and the lives she had touched over the years as immeasurable.
RMD added that it had been a privilege to witness Silva’s journey and celebrate the woman she had become.

Silva is a veteran actress and cultural leader whose career spans stage, television and film. She is also the co-founder of Lufodo Productions. Her husband, Olu Jacobs, died on Sept. 16 at the age of 84.
