Ivan Burazin, cofounder and CEO of AI infrastructure company Daytona, says one of the strongest skills for working with AI agents is the ability to manage people.
Speaking about his company’s experience, Burazin said employees who have supervised others tend to write clearer prompts because they communicate goals, expectations and desired results more effectively.
“We’ve found that people who manage people and understand how to communicate what they want- inputs versus outputs- are much better at running agents,” Burazin said.
Daytona, a New York-based company founded in 2023 by Burazin, Vedran Jukić and Goran Draganić, builds secure sandbox infrastructure that allows businesses to run AI agents and AI-generated code. The company has about 30 employees across the United States and Europe.
Burazin said the company’s 16 engineers each oversee an average of five AI agents, and AI now handles the coding work developers previously wrote themselves.

He said engineers without management experience often assume that both people and AI will understand incomplete instructions. That approach can lead to poor results and unnecessary frustration.
“This is what I want. This is how I expect you to do it, or what I think the outcome should be,” Burazin said, describing the level of clarity effective prompts require.
Burazin also argued that technical managers should remain involved in hands-on work rather than managing teams alone. He said combining technical knowledge with strong communication helps companies use AI agents while keeping teams small and efficient.
