Former Delta State governor and 2023 Peoples Democratic Party vice-presidential candidate Ifeanyi Okowa has revealed that he knew the party would lose the presidential election before Nigerians went to the polls.
Okowa said at a recent event in Delta State that his assessment of the political situation convinced him the All Progressives Congress would emerge victorious.
According to him, he had also shared his prediction with Christian leaders before the election, telling them that the APC would win, while the PDP would finish second and the Labour Party third.
“I knew we would not win the election. And even when I met with the Christian leaders, I told them that APC would win, while PDP would come second and then Labour Party would come third,” Okowa said.
Okowa was Atiku Abubakar’s running mate on the PDP ticket in the 2023 presidential election.
The APC candidate, Bola Tinubu, won the election ahead of Atiku, while Labour Party’s Peter Obi finished third.
