Gov. Ademola Adeleke of Osun has pledged increased funding for poverty reduction and human capital development as part of efforts to ease economic hardship and improve living standards across the state.
Adeleke made the commitment in a state broadcast on Thursday to mark the 35th anniversary of Osun State.
The governor said his administration would intensify efforts to create economic opportunities for residents while expanding its anti-poverty programs.
He also pledged to strengthen industrialization while protecting workers’ welfare and giving greater attention to integrated rural development.
According to him, the government would prioritize wealth creation and deepen initiatives to lift residents out of poverty.
Adeleke said his administration would also consolidate its achievements in infrastructure, the digital economy, sports development, agricultural mechanization, education and healthcare.
He said youths, women and students would remain key beneficiaries of the government’s development programs.
We promised to renew our focus on ease of doing business to create a more conducive environment for economic activities and investment in the state.
“Also, we shall continue to implement our renewed five-point agenda in accordance with due process, procurement regulations and best practices in project execution,” he said.
The governor said his administration would refine the local content model and expand financial inclusion through financing opportunities within the cooperative sector.
Adeleke said the initiatives were designed to convert Osun’s development potential into tangible benefits for its residents.
He appealed to the people to continue supporting his administration as it works to improve governance and accelerate development across the state.
