President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has condemned the deadly attack on Naridon Village in Kamaru Ward, Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, describing it as a barbaric and cowardly assault on innocent citizens.
The attack, which occurred in the early hours of Monday, reportedly claimed the lives of about 30 residents, including women and children, while several homes were set ablaze.
Tinubu described the incident as an unprovoked act of terror against defenceless people, warning that those behind the violence would face the full weight of the law.
The President said perpetrators seeking to undermine the peace and security recently restored in Kaduna State would not be allowed to succeed.
He expressed condolences to the families of the victims, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, the state government, and residents of the state, assuring them of the Federal Government’s support during the period of mourning.
Tinubu directed the Armed Forces, police, and intelligence agencies to intensify operations in the affected areas to apprehend the attackers, rescue abducted victims, and restore calm.
“I have directed the Armed Forces, police, and relevant intelligence agencies to intensify operations across the affected areas to track down the perpetrators swiftly, secure the release of abducted individuals, and restore normalcy to the region,” the President said.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening security infrastructure, equipping security personnel, and dismantling criminal networks threatening the nation’s peace.
In a statement made available to The News Chronicle, the President also urged residents of affected communities to cooperate with security agencies by providing timely and credible intelligence to support rapid response efforts.
