NAF, Operation HADIN KAI Deepen Strategic Communication for National Security

—

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) and the Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening inter-agency collaboration through enhanced strategic communication in support of Nigeria’s national security objectives.
The commitment was made during a courtesy visit by the Director of Public Relations and Information of the Nigerian Air Force, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, to the Headquarters of Operation HADIN KAI in Maiduguri, Borno State, on July 21, 2026.
Speaking during the visit, the Theatre Commander of Operation HADIN KAI, Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, described strategic communication as a vital component of modern military operations.
He said effective communication, coordinated messaging, and strong inter-agency collaboration are essential to shaping public perception, countering terrorist propaganda, denying criminal groups the information space, and sustaining public confidence in ongoing counter-terrorism operations.

Major General Abubakar commended the Nigerian Air Force for its professionalism and continued support to joint military operations in the North-East.
In his remarks, Air Commodore Ejodame stressed the need for greater synergy in strategic communication among the Armed Forces and other security agencies.
He noted that harmonised communication, sustained media engagement, and the timely dissemination of factual and credible information through responsible media organisations are crucial to countering misinformation and disinformation while reinforcing public trust in military operations.
He explained that the visit was aimed at deepening collaboration between the Nigerian Air Force and Operation HADIN KAI in promoting accurate, timely, and coordinated communication on military operations and other national security issues.
Both senior military officers reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening strategic communication as a force multiplier in ongoing operations.
They agreed that proactive media engagement, timely dissemination of verified information, and sustained collaboration among security agencies and the media would help shape positive public perception, deny terrorist groups the opportunity to exploit the information environment, strengthen civil-military relations, and support lasting peace, security, and national development.
The visit was attended by the Air Component Commander, Operation HADIN KAI, Air Commodore Buba Ahmed; the Chief of Staff, Headquarters OPHK, Brigadier General Sani Ahmed; Component Commanders, Principal Staff Officers, and other senior officers.
