Canada-based Nigerian rapper Rightflow is making waves online after the artwork for his latest album, “Welcome to the Jungle,” was showcased on a digital billboard at the iconic Times Square in New York City.
Images of the billboard, which have since gone viral on social media, show the album cover prominently displayed in the world-famous entertainment district, with fans celebrating the milestone as another testament to the growing global influence of Nigerian music.
Located at the intersection of Broadway, Seventh Avenue and 42nd Street in Midtown Manhattan, Times Square is one of the world’s busiest tourist and entertainment destinations, attracting an estimated 50 million visitors annually and welcoming about 330,000 pedestrians each day.
Its towering digital billboards—among the most expensive advertising spaces in the world—span more than 300,000 square feet of LED displays and are renowned for showcasing immersive 3D visuals, interactive campaigns and large-scale multimedia experiences.
Industry observers note that while billboard placements in Times Square are typically secured through paid advertising campaigns, the location remains one of the most coveted promotional platforms because of its unrivalled global visibility and massive foot traffic.
Rightflow, who blends hip-hop with emo-inspired sounds, recently released “Welcome to the Jungle,” a 12-track album featuring collaborations with emerging Nigerian artistes, including Zaylevelten and Luwa MP4, highlighting the country’s rising music talents.
Born Marvin Wonodi in Port Harcourt and now based in Prince Edward Island, Canada, the 21-year-old rapper began his musical journey at the age of 14 before releasing his debut single in 2021.
Known for his introspective lyricism, Rightflow’s music goes beyond conventional rap themes, exploring truth, hope and emotional storytelling.
His growing catalog includes the EPs Rightflow Unleashed (2022) and Into the Abyss (2023), as well as fan-favorite singles such as “Man O War.”
As global hip-hop continues to evolve, Rightflow is fast emerging as one of Nigeria’s exciting new voices, with fans and industry watchers praising his distinctive sound and his ability to tell authentic Nigerian stories on the international stage.
