The Nigerian media personality shared a series of photos of his social media posts on Sunday. He also released a wedding-themed video in which he appears as both the bride and the groom.
He described the ceremony as marrying “every version” of himself that had survived life’s challenges. The event coincided with his 45th birthday celebration. He signed off the announcement as “The Bride. The Groom. The HappilyEverAfter.”
Denrele explained the meaning behind the ceremony:
“Till death didn’t do us part. So I married myself.”
He continued:
“After 45 years of chaos, glitter, survival, reinvention, controversy, resilience, heartbreak and triumph — I remain the greatest love story I’ve ever known.”
He also declared:
“I am the bride and the groom. And I am marrying every version of myself that fought to get here. Today, I marry the only person who never left my side: ME!”
His Instagram birthday message carried the same theme. He wrote:
“Dear 15-year-old DENRELE EDUN, You survived the laughter. You survived the labels. You survived being misunderstood. A whole wedding ceremony and we’re both the Bride and the Groom.
