“For the avoidance of doubt, Dalan Gyada and Kurmi Markets remain prohibited locations for the sale of medicines.
The enforcement team head further said that breaking official seals, reopening sealed premises, or operating pharmaceutical businesses without PCN approval are grave violations of the PCN (Establishment) Act 2022.
“Let me state unequivocally: PCN will enforce all breaches of the law by any premises, whether legal or illegal, anywhere in Nigeria.
“The offenders will be arraigned before the Federal High Court for prosecution as provided by law. The PCN Legal Team is on ground to ensure that the legal process is duly completed”.
He urged Nigerians to obtain medicines only from facilities licensed and regulated by the council, stressing that such outlets guarantee quality assurance, safety standards and professional supervision.
“PCN remains resolute and will continue to work with security agencies and relevant stakeholders to rid Nigeria of unwholesome pharmaceutical practices.
“We urge all practitioners and members of the public to cooperate with PCN in the interest of public health,” Chiroma said.
