Suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists on Friday attacked Mussa Primary and Junior Secondary School in Mussa village, Askira-Uba Local Government Area of Borno State, leaving many schoolchildren feared abducted.
The insurgents, reportedly riding on motorcycles, stormed the school shortly after security troops left the area, disrupting classes and forcing several pupils to flee into nearby bushes.
The Deputy Speaker of the Borno State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abdullahi Askira, confirmed the incident, noting that the exact number of abducted children remains unclear as many students escaped during the attack.
Authorities are yet to release an official statement, while residents fear the assault may have been coordinated after monitoring troop movements in the area near Sambisa Forest.
