The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 81 Division, Nigerian Army, Major General Adebayo Babalola, has commended troops of Operation ATILEYIN ALAFIA II for their exemplary discipline, professionalism, and dedication during their operational deployment in the Republic of Benin.
Speaking on Wednesday at the 243 Reconnaissance Battalion Parade Ground, Ibereko Barracks, Badagry, Lagos, while receiving the returning troops, Major General Babalola praised them for successfully completing their mission and serving as worthy ambassadors of Nigeria and the Nigerian Army.
He recalled that before their deployment, he had charged the troops to uphold the Army’s core values and expressed satisfaction that they returned with an outstanding record of professionalism, discipline, courage, and loyalty.
The GOC disclosed that the troops’ exceptional performance had also earned the commendation of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, who lauded their conduct throughout the operation.
According to Major General Babalola, arrangements are underway to award the troops operational medals in recognition of their meritorious service during the mission.
He urged the soldiers to maintain the high standards they had demonstrated and cautioned them against any action that could tarnish the reputation they had earned through their exemplary service.
