Former Kogi State senator Dino Melaye has taken a swipe at former presidential candidate Peter Obi, questioning his resilience and political trajectory in a fiery political commentary.
Melaye, in a post on his X account, said Obi had consistently avoided political heat, arguing that such a trait raises doubts about his capacity to manage a country facing deep national challenges.
According to him, “If he cannot face party tribulations and crises, how does he intend to handle Nigeria? Nigeria’s wahala is even bigger than ADC problems ooo.”
He further mocked Obi’s political comfort zone, saying: “He can only operate in an air-conditioned kitchen. Hot kitchens are not for him.”
Melaye also criticised Obi’s history of party affiliations, alleging that he has not gone through competitive primaries in his political journey across the All Progressives Grand Alliance, Peoples Democratic Party, Labour Party, and the National Democratic Congress.
“He has never gone through primary elections. APGA gave him a free governorship ticket, Atiku gave him a free vice presidential ticket, Labour gave him a free presidential ticket,” Melaye claimed.
He added that Obi’s repeated exits from parties, including the PDP and ADC, were allegedly tied to his preference for ready-made tickets rather than internal contests.
The former lawmaker further escalated his remarks by alleging political alignments involving the NDC and the ruling All Progressives Congress.
