Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has expressed support for U.S. President Donald Trump’s two-week ceasefire with Iran, but emphasized that Lebanon is not part of the agreement.

In a statement released early Wednesday, Netanyahu’s office said Israel “supported Trump’s decision to suspend strikes on Iran for two weeks, provided Tehran immediately reopened the Strait of Hormuz and stopped all attacks on the United States, Israel, and countries in the region.”

“Israel also supports the U.S. effort to ensure that Iran no longer poses a nuclear, missile, and terror threat to America, Israel, Iran’s Arab neighbors, and the world,” the statement added.

“The United States has told Israel that it is committed to achieving these goals, shared by the U.S., Israel, and Israel’s regional allies, in the upcoming negotiations.”

Netanyahu made clear that “the two-week ceasefire does not include Lebanon.”

Earlier, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, whose country has been mediating talks, had written on X that Iran and the U.S., along with their allies, had agreed to an “immediate ceasefire everywhere,” including in Lebanon.
