2027: Reps Hopeful Oli Pushes Accountability Pact with Constituents

A House of Representatives aspirant for the Anaocha/Njikoka/Dunukofi Federal Constituency of Anambra State in the 2027 general elections, Barr Chukwudi Oli has pledged to set a new standard of genuine, people-centered representation in the constituency if elected.

He also vowed to be committed to transparency, challenging his constituents to hold him accountable for every one of his promises.

Speaking during an interactive session with journalists at his country home in Uruorji Village, Nri, Anaocha Local Government Area of the State, Oli promised to transform lives through purposeful and accountable representation.

Oli, who is contesting under the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) described himself as a product of humble beginnings.

He added that his aspiration is driven by deep knowledge of poverty and a strong desire to uplift others.

His words: “I am the son of a very poor man who died poor. However, God has blessed me. After obtaining my degree as a legal professional, I committed myself to touching lives. My background has shaped my passion for service.

“Unlike other aspirants, my mission is clear and anchored on transparency, accountability, and measurable impact.

“God has blessed me, and I want to do more for my people because I understand the pain of poverty. I am the only aspirant who has openly declared that I will fully disclose to my constituents whatever resources are allocated to them.

“My service will be rooted in accountability and constant engagement with the people. I will maintain regular town hall meetings to understand the needs of my people.

“Effective representation requires consultation, and it is through continuous engagement that I can sponsor quality legislation that truly reflects their interests.”

The legal practitioner also outlined his development agenda, which focuses on sustainable empowerment rather than short-term palliatives.

“My representation is not about distributing Keke NAPEP, motorcycles, grinding machines, or solar lights. It is about building entrepreneurs and institutions that will outlive generations.

“We must invest in people, especially our youth, and equip them to become future leaders. I will initiate progressive legal frameworks and programs aimed at empowering youths, supporting the elderly, and uplifting all segments of society.

“My word will be sacrosanct. I will not betray the trust of my people. I will prudently manage the resources meant for my constituency and ensure they are used solely for the benefit of the people,” he said.

The House of Reps hopeful also pledged to collaborate with Governor Chukwuma Soludo to advance infrastructure development across the state.

Highlighting the size and importance of the constituency,  Oli described it as very dear to me.

He further acknowledged the contributions of past representatives, stressing that performance largely depends on capacity.

“Anaocha/Njikoka/Dunukofia is the largest constituency in Anambra State, comprising 51 wards. Anaocha has about 320 polling units, Njikoka about 231, and Dunukofia 165.

“Those who have represented this constituency have done their best, but one cannot perform beyond one’s capacity. I believe I have the competence, vision, and integrity required to deliver exceptional representation.

“I am not a leader who seeks to dominate or elevate himself above others, as is common in today’s politics. I am a servant leader, committed to carrying my people along in every step of governance,” he stated.

Addressing the issue of zoning, Oli acknowledged ongoing agitations within the constituency but maintained that competence should remain the primary criterion.

“There are agitations for zoning, with different groups asserting their turn. While I respect these concerns, I believe leadership should be based on capacity. However, I am also carefully reflecting on these issues.

“For those who do not know me, I am the son of a poor man, Christian Chigozie Oli. My journey defines my purpose: to serve selflessly, uplift my people, and build a future anchored on opportunity, transparency, and sustainable development,” he explained.
