During the visit to Maiduguri, the police chief assessed the situation and reassured affected communities of the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to their safety.
This was disclosed in a statement by the Borno State Police Command spokesperson, ASP Kenneth Nahum Daso.
As part of his on-the-ground evaluation, the IGP also inspected the site of the Maiduguri Monday Market bombing to assess the extent of damage caused by the attack.
The visit formed part of broader efforts to strengthen security response and prevent further incidents in the area.
In continuation of his engagements, Disu held meetings with officials at the Borno State Government House and the State Police Command Headquarters.
Discussions focused on reviewing existing security measures and improving coordination among security agencies.
The IGP commiserated with victims and families affected by the tragic incidents, expressing sympathy and solidarity during the difficult period. He assured residents that the police are committed to dismantling all networks responsible for the attacks and preventing any recurrence.
He further emphasized that security in Maiduguri and its environs has been significantly reinforced, with increased deployment of personnel, enhanced surveillance operations, and strengthened joint security efforts aimed at ensuring public safety and maintaining order.
