Plateau State, Nigeria At least 14 soldiers, including a Captain and a Colonel, were killed in a brutal ambush by gunmen in Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State around 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
Eyewitnesses and reports obtained by The News Chronicle revealed that the attackers beheaded some of the soldiers, severed their hands, and set their bodies ablaze. The remains of the slain personnel have since been moved to Plateau State General Hospital.
Authorities have not yet released an official statement on the incident. Security agencies are reportedly investigating the attack. More details are expected to follow as the situation develops.
