Warri Wolves FC has once again directed head coach Napoleon Aluma to step aside following a string of poor results in the Nigeria Premier Football League.
The decision came less than 24 hours after the Seasiders fell to a 4 2 defeat against Shooting Stars Sports Club, a loss that deepened concerns over the club’s form this season and increased pressure on the technical bench.
Executive Assistant on Sports to Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, Festus Ohwojero, confirmed that management opted for immediate changes in a bid to steady the team. According to him, Aluma has been asked to step aside, while his assistant will take temporary charge pending a final decision from the club hierarchy.
This is the second time in the current campaign that Aluma has relinquished his role, raising questions about the club’s long-term stability. Warri Wolves have struggled to find rhythm in the league, with inconsistent performances leaving supporters frustrated.
The News Chronicle reports that discussions are already underway behind the scenes as the club explores potential replacements to revive its season and restore confidence within the squad.
There are also indications that former Super Eagles defender Ndubuisi Ndah is being considered as a potential successor should the management decide to make the change permanent.
