This Level of Brutality Is Unacceptable— Atiku on Fresh Niger Killings

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has condemned the deadly attacks on communities in Agwara and Borgu Local Government Areas of Niger State, describing them as heinous, brazen, and unacceptable.

In a statement, Atiku expressed deep sorrow over the killing of scores of innocent residents and the abduction of several others, including schoolchildren, saying the scale of brutality against defenceless communities is deeply disturbing.

He extended his condolences to families of the victims and pledged solidarity with the people and government of Niger State in what he called a painful and trying moment.

“My thoughts and prayers are with the families of those killed and abducted, especially the children,” he said, urging security agencies to act swiftly to ensure the safe and unconditional release of all captives.

Atiku stressed that the primary responsibility of government is the protection of lives and property, calling for urgent reinforcement of Nigeria’s security architecture, the restoration of public confidence in affected communities, and the arrest and prosecution of those behind the atrocities.
