Many Feared Dead as Bomb Explosion Hits Passenger Vehicle in Chibok, Borno

An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) explosion has killed several passengers traveling from Chibok to Damboa in Borno State.

The incident occurred on Thursday evening when a 14-seater Sharon vehicle ran over an IED believed to have been planted by Boko Haram terrorists.

The explosion killed most of the passengers, including women and children.

Although the exact number of casualties is still unknown, multiple sources confirmed that many people lost their lives.

According to a source familiar with the incident, “The explosion happened on Thursday evening. It struck a Sharon vehicle, and only two passengers managed to escape.”

The source added that after the initial blast, troops of the Nigerian Army and other security agencies successfully detonated three additional IEDs planted along the route.
