Bauchi Poly Suspends Academic Activities Over Security Concerns

—

The Federal Polytechnic Bauchi has announced the immediate suspension of all academic activities following a directive by the Bauchi State Government ordering the closure of all primary, secondary, and tertiary institutions in the state due to rising security concerns.
The development was contained in an internal memo issued on Monday, 24th November 2025, by the Registry Academic Division of the institution. The memo confirmed that the suspension takes effect immediately.
According to the statement signed by Safiyo Yila on behalf of the Registrar, the decision aligns with the state government’s directive aimed at safeguarding the lives of students and staff amid the current security situation.
The institution further noted that a new date for the resumption of academic activities will be communicated in due course. Heads of departments have been instructed to ensure strict compliance with the directive.
The management expressed appreciation for the understanding and cooperation of the polytechnic community.
