Several underage protesters detained since August by the Nigeria Police Force fainted in a Federal High Court in Abuja on Friday morning due to alleged poor treatment and starvation.Â
Brought from various police detention facilities, the minors were part of the #EndBadGovernance movement, protesting against economic hardship and insecurity under President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

Sources claim the detainees have been deprived of food for days, leading to severe weakness.
Justice Emeka Nwite had earlier approved their 60-day detention as the police pursued an investigation into alleged attempts to overthrow the government.
The Network of Abuja Left Groups and other activists have condemned the prolonged detention and are calling for the immediate release of 76 protesters, including 32 minors, detained for months for exercising their constitutional rights.
