JUST IN: Social Media Influencer VeryDarkMan to Face Court Today Over Police Impersonation

Martins Otse, known online as VeryDarkMan will appear in court today in Abuja, accused of impersonating a policeman. 

The Nigeria Police Force reported that Otse was detained Thursday after allegedly wearing a police uniform in a viral video without authorization.

His lawyer, Deji Adeyanju stated Otse had attended a police invitation earlier this week and was then detained.

The police emphasized their commitment to protecting the integrity of their symbols and preventing misuse.
