In a scathing response to a lucrative bid from a Saudi club, Victor Osimhen’s agent, Calenda, has issued a formal statement asserting the Nigerian striker’s commitment to Napoli and demanding respect and balance in transfer negotiations.
Calenda’s statement comes after a Saudi club made a significant offer for Osimhen’s services, which was promptly rejected by Napoli. The agent emphasized that Osimhen is not a commodity to be shipped away to make room for new signings, stating, “Victor is not a package to be shipped far away to make room for new prophets.”
Osimhen’s agent reaffirmed the player’s dedication to Napoli, highlighting his recent contract renewal and mutual satisfaction between the club and player.
Calenda noted that Osimhen has made history with Napoli and has always accepted the club’s decisions regarding major offers, including those received this year.
Calenda also pointed out Osimhen’s impressive individual achievements, including being elected African Footballer of the Year and finishing eighth in the Ballon d’Or rankings. The agent stressed that these accomplishments warrant respect and balance in transfer negotiations, implying that the Saudi bid did not meet these standards.
