Chidinma Adetshina, who recently withdrew from the Miss South Africa 2024 pageant due to controversy surrounding her citizenship, has confirmed that she will now participate in the Miss Universe Nigeria 2024 competition.
This invitation came from the organizers, the Silverbird Group, following the controversy that led her to step down from the South African competition.

The controversy arose when some people questioned her South African citizenship, leading to an investigation by the South African Department of Home Affairs. They suggested that Adetshina’s mother may have committed fraud and identity theft to register her as a South African citizen at birth. Despite these allegations, Adetshina was not implicated in any wrongdoing as she was a child at the time.
Adetshina, who has a Nigerian father and a Mozambican mother, expressed her excitement and gratitude for the opportunity to participate in the Miss Universe Nigeria pageant. In a video shared on her X (formerly Twitter) account, she thanked her supporters and confirmed her decision to join the competition.
