Conor Gallagher Set to Join Atlético Madrid in €40m Deal

In an exclusive revelation, renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher has accepted the contract terms offered by Atlético Madrid.

After protracted negotiations, Gallagher gave his final green light to the Spanish club following late-night talks. The 23-year-old Englishman has verbally agreed to a five-year contract with Atlético, tying him to the club until June 2029.

Gallagher had the option to extend his contract at Chelsea but has chosen to join Atlético in a deal worth €40m. The transfer fee package has been agreed upon, paving the way for the midfielder’s departure from Stamford Bridge.

While the formalities of the transfer are yet to be completed, Romano reports that the deal is expected to be signed within the next 24 hours. Atlético Madrid will undertake the formal steps to confirm the transfer in the morning, marking a significant coup for the La Liga club.

Gallagher’s decision to join Atlético comes as a boost to Diego Simeone’s side, who have been actively seeking to strengthen their midfield. The Englishman’s versatility and skillset are expected to be valuable assets to the team.

Chelsea, on the other hand, will be bidding farewell to a talented young player who has shown promise during his time at the club.
