Kogi State Governor Ahmed Ododo Swears in 10 New Judges, Urges Judicial Integrity

In a significant move to bolster the judicial system in Kogi State, Governor Alhaji Ahmed Ododo swore in ten new judges on Wednesday.
The ceremony took place in Lokoja, where the Governor emphasized the importance of adhering to the rules and regulations of the judiciary to ensure the administration of justice for the people of the state.
The newly appointed judges include four for the High Court of Justice, five for the Sharia Court of Appeal, and one for the Customary Court of Appeal.
Governor Ododo, in his address, underscored the critical role of the judiciary as the last hope of the common man.
He urged the newly sworn-in judges to ensure that justice is administered fairly and equally, without discrimination based on class, religion, or ethnicity.
“A just and fair society is where everybody is treated equally regardless of class, religion, and ethnicity. Therefore, you must be reminded and be guided by the oaths you have taken,” the Governor stated.
He assured the public of the integrity and unquestionable character of the new judges, committing to non-interference in their judicial activities. This, he said, would allow them to discharge their duties within the confines of the law.
“My administration will provide and support you to discharge your statutory responsibilities. I am offering you vehicles to enhance your mobility, and I will also guarantee your safety in view of the nature of your job,” Governor Ododo assured.
This commitment to supporting the judiciary aims to enhance the effective administration of justice in Kogi State, contributing to a peaceful and equitable society.
