Troops from the 6 Brigade of the Nigerian Army and Sector 3 Operation WHIRL STROKE (OPWS) carried out a significant clearance operation in Taraba On Tuesday, June 11, 2024.

This operation successfully dismantled several kidnappers’ camps and recovered valuable items in the Chinkai Forest of Wukari Local Government Area, Taraba State.

Insecurity: Troops Clear Bandits from Forests, Recover Items in Taraba StateBased on reliable intelligence reports about ongoing criminal activities by terrorist groups hiding in the Chinkai Forest, troops from the 93 Battalion Sub-Sector 3B OPWS initiated the clearance operation. The soldiers thoroughly searched the dense forest areas, which are known for housing kidnappers’ camps. As the troops advanced, the terrorists fled, leaving behind their makeshift structures.
During the operation, the troops destroyed several structures linked to notorious kidnapping leaders such as Isah, Shagari, Dogo, and Teller. In addition, they recovered valuable items from the camps, including 12 mobile phones, 3 international passports, and various mystical charms used by the criminals.
This operation highlights the unwavering commitment of the 6 Brigade Nigerian Army and Sector 3 OPWS to tackling insecurity in Taraba State.
