Troops Rescue 8 Abducted CUSTECH Students in Kwara After Intense operation

—

Troops of the Nigerian Army, working together with operatives from the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies, have rescued eight students from Confluence University of Science and Technology, Osara, Kogi State.
These students had been kidnapped by terrorists and were found in a dense forest near Oro Ago Village in Kwara State, on Sunday.
The rescue operation was launched after a thorough clearance mission by the combined forces.
This mission led to the discovery of the kidnapped students’ location through an extensive search of nearby forests and villages.
The search was focused on the areas along the Gbugu, Pategi, and Oro Ago Axis, including Babasango and Babanla.
During their search, the troops noticed the terrorists attempting to move their hostages to a different location.
As the troops closed in, the terrorists abandoned the students and fled into the forest. The rescued students have since been safely evacuated and handed over to the Kogi State Government authorities for further actions and to be reunited with their families.
This operation highlights the commitment of the Nigerian Army and other security agencies to ensuring the safety and security of citizens, especially in areas affected by terrorist activities.
The swift and decisive actions of the troops not only saved lives but also sent a strong message to terrorist elements operating in the region.
The Nigerian Army urges the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest security agency. Collective efforts are essential in the fight against terrorism and criminality in the region.
