Yobe State Govt Urges Security Synergy on Farmers-Herders Clashes

—

The Yobe State Government has promised farming communities that they will receive adequate security as the farming season begins.
To ensure this, Governor Mai Mala Buni has urged security agencies to collaborate more effectively to prevent conflicts between farmers and herders.
This call was made during a routine joint security meeting held in Damaturu on Wednesday, May 22, 2024.
Represented by his deputy, Idi Barde Gubana, Governor Buni emphasized the importance of the meeting in assessing the state’s security situation as the rainy season approaches.
He highlighted the need for robust cooperation among security agencies to ensure a peaceful farming season and to prevent clashes between farmers and herders.
Governor Buni praised the efforts of security agencies in maintaining peace and order in the state.
He also acknowledged the significant role played by traditional rulers and community leaders in resolving conflicts within their communities.
During a briefing with newsmen, Ahmad Garba, the Commissioner of Police for Yobe State Command, assured that security agencies would enhance their surveillance and increase patrols across the state.
“These measures aim to prevent not only farmers/herders clashes but also other criminal activities.”
“The state government and security agencies are committed to ensuring a safe and peaceful environment for farming communities throughout the season.”
