Saudi Arabia donates dates to schools and destitutes in Kano

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, via its Consulate office in Kano, has generously donated palm dates to various institutions in Kano State.

These include Juma’at Mosques, Islamic schools, orphanages, destitutes, and hospitals. The donation, comprising 3,000 cartons of palm dates, was received by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Baffa Bichi, who represented Governor Abba Yusuf at the Government House in Kano.

Expressing gratitude on behalf of the state, the SSG thanked the Saudi Arabian government for their humanitarian gesture and ongoing support.

“We are grateful to Almighty God for this humanitarian gesture and support we have been getting from the government and people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

“We are going to ensure that these palm dates get to the beneficiaries as agreed. It is going to be distributed according to the plan put in place.”

He assured that the dates would be distributed according to the agreed plan, ensuring they reach the intended beneficiaries.

Khaleel Ahmad Adamawiy, the Consulate General of Saudi Arabia, emphasized the Kingdom’s commitment to humanitarian aid, highlighting previous initiatives such as a feeding program and medical diagnosis campaigns.

He explained that the donation of dates is part of the broader humanitarian and relief efforts undertaken by the Saudi government, in line with its commitment to alleviating the suffering of those in need globally.

Adamawiy also provided insights into the extensive humanitarian work carried out by the King Salman Center for Humanitarian Aids and Relief since its establishment in 2015.

With support from numerous UN members, the center has successfully completed and delivered over 2,300 projects valued at billions of dollars, benefiting numerous countries worldwide.

Meanwhile, the Kano State government, with the assistance of the Humanitarian ministry and the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), has commenced the distribution of the donated dates to the identified beneficiaries across the state.

This collaborative effort aims to ensure that the humanitarian aid reaches those most in need and contributes to improving their well-being.
