Northern group warns Kwankwaso about incitement.

The Coalition of Northern Youth Movement (CNYM) issued a stern warning to former presidential aspirant Rabiu Kwankwaso regarding his recent comments on national security.

Dr. Talba Isah, the President of CNYM, emphasized that Kwankwaso should exercise caution when speaking on such matters, asserting that as a former governor of Kano State, he lacks the authority to advise the Federal Government on security issues.

Expressing disapproval of Kwankwaso’s remarks, Dr. Isah highlighted that the Coalition finds it necessary to caution the former governor for what they perceive as misleading statements.

They criticized Kwankwaso for allegedly making baseless claims about the government’s ability to address the country’s security challenges.

The statement pointed out that Kwankwaso’s comments coincided with his party’s national convention, suggesting a potential attempt to garner attention amid lackluster party proceedings.

Furthermore, Dr. Isah accused Kwankwaso of attempting to bolster his credibility by referencing his past role as Minister of Defence.

However, the statement argued that Kwankwaso’s tenure in that position contributed to the deterioration of Nigeria’s security apparatus, citing issues such as inter-agency rivalry, misappropriation of funds meant for arms purchases, and neglect of intelligence gathering.

The Coalition also accused Kwankwaso of fostering political extremism in Kano State, which allegedly led to the proliferation of banditry in the region.

The statement continued to condemn Kwankwaso’s alleged political agenda, suggesting that his criticisms of the current administration and its efforts to combat extremism stem from a desire to promote his own political interests.

The Coalition criticized Kwankwaso for questioning the ability of leaders like Tinubu to address insecurity, particularly in light of what they perceive as governance failures in Kano State under Kwankwaso’s influence.

Dr. Isah warned Kwankwaso that the Coalition would not hesitate to compile a comprehensive report detailing the alleged negative impact of his leadership on national security if he fails to take corrective action.

“We are consequently informing Kwankwaso that our Movement will not hesitate to produce a full dossier on how Kano State under Kwankwaso and his puppet, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has undermined national security in the last nine months if he does not begin to take noticeable remedial measures to undo the damage he has done to the country.”

The statement urged Kwankwaso to acknowledge his perceived failures and refrain from offering advice to the current administration and the Armed Forces on matters of security.

“We further urge the one-time Minister of Defence and Governor of Kano State, Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso to acknowledge his place as a monumental failure who cannot lecture the Tinubu’s administration and the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on how to fight terrorism.”
