UCL Quarter Final: Arsenal and Bayern Settle for Draw in London

—

Arsenal and Bayern Munich settled for a 2-2 draw during the first leg of the quarter-final of the UEFA Champions League at the Emirates Stadium.

Despite missing the prestigious tournament for over seven years, Arsenal held Bayern Munich to a full-time draw of 2-2.

Bukayo Saka’s superb strike gave the Gunners the lead against their rivals. While the game’s intensity increased, former Arsenal player Gnabry leveled the score for Bayern in the 17th minute. Harry Kane’s successful penalty kick in the 32nd minute put Bayern ahead in front of the Arsenal fans. The first half concluded with Bayern Munich leading 2-1.

Arsenal returned in the second half with better possession over their visitors. Arteta’s men put a smile on the faces of their fans in belief after Trossard’s shot stretched beyond the reach of Manuel Neuer as Arsenal leveled in the 77th minute.

Arsenal will travel to Germany on April 17, 2024, to conclude the second leg of this round.
