CITAD empowers individuals with disabilities in Kano

—

The Centre for Information Technology and Development (CITAD) helped people with disabilities in Kano State learn important skills on Wednesday.

Mr. Buhari Abba, speaking for YZ Ya’u, the CITAD Executive Director, said they wanted to help people with disabilities find jobs by giving them skills they need.

He said many disabled people struggle to find work because they don’t have the right skills.

The workshop focused on teaching participants important soft skills like talking to others, working in a team, solving problems, and thinking critically.

These skills are really important for any job, and learning them will help disabled people compete for jobs.

Mr. Abba said the program will help young people understand what companies are looking for when hiring, know what questions they might be asked in interviews, and learn how to answer them well.

Malam Hamza Aminu Fagge, who works with disabled people at CITAD, said CITAD is doing a great job helping disabled people.

He thinks this program will change their lives for the better by giving them skills and support they need to succeed.

During the workshop, Malam Ahmadu Adamu talked about important skills for starting a career and doing well in job interviews.

Dr. Bashir Abdulhameed talked about online tools for finding jobs, getting help from the community, and strategies for finding a job.
