Kanayo O Kanayo Opens Up About Heartwarming Friendship with Peter Obi: A Tale of Genuine Support and Kindness

Kanayo O Kanayo shares more about his friendship with Peter Obi

Friends they say is the family you get to choose and some people are lucky to always get the best

Actor Kanayo O. Kanayo recently shared a touching story about his friend Peter Obi’s unanticipated generosity during a trying period. Kanayo reflected on his mother’s death and his inability to be present at her funeral, recalling how Obi—who was Anambra State’s governor at the time—went above and above to provide assistance.

Kanayo said in an interview with Afia TV that even though he wasn’t present at the funeral, Obi made a gesture that really moved him. Obi called Kanayo and expressed his sadness even in the face of the responsibilities of his political position. He also generously contributed N250k towards the burial costs.

In his words:

“In 2011, I was to bury my mum and I had many senators I had friends and I wrote to all of them. Two weeks after the funeral, Peter Obi called me at 1 am in his little voice, o sim ‘nwanne I just got your letter, I know the burial is over, You know I would have come if I had seen the letter’.

“He sent me exactly the price of a cow. You know somebody would have thought he would give you two million for burial in 2011.”

“I think he went to the market and priced the cow, the cow was 250k and that is what he sent to me. But the story here is he was the governor but he had time to call me.”

This act of kindness on the part of Obi highlights the great importance of friends supporting one another during difficult times. In addition to his words, his deeds revealed a great deal about their friendship and the need for sincere support during difficult times.

The friendship between Obi and Kanayo serves as a reminder of the value of genuine friendship in a society where fleeting relationships are frequently the norm. It is about being there for one another, providing comfort, and reaching out for a helping hand when it is most needed, not about big gestures or ostentatious demonstrations.
