HARDSHIP: Tension Brews In Niger As Soldiers Open Fire At Residents Hijacking Trucks, Stealing Food Items (Video)

Report coming in has it that Niger state has come under a chaotic situation on Thursday, February 22, 2024, as soldiers opened fire on suspected hoodlums hijacking trailers loaded with foodstuff in the Suleja area of Niger State.

 

 

Speaking to newsmen, an witness, Alhassan Abdullahi, who revealed that many trailers coming from Abuja and heading for Kaduna were waylaid by the hoodlums who burnt tyres on the road, added that many bags of foodstuff, especially rice, were stolen before soldiers arrived at the scene.

 

 

He disclosed further, “It took intervention of soldiers who arrived at the scene and started firing gunshots in the air to scare the hoodlums away. But even with that, many of them went away with bags of rice and cartons of spaghetti and other food items”.

He added that it is not clear why commercial motorcycle riders stopped their planned protest after mobilizing to stage it since yesterday.
