Anambra Police Forge Alliance with Keke Operators to Fight Insecurity, as CP Fetes Commuters

Anambra State Commissioner of Police CP Aderemi Adeoye has urged tricycle drivers in the state to partner with the Police to fight crimes and criminalities.

Adeoye made the statement when hosting members of the Anambra State Keke Drivers Forum in Awka, the state capital.

According to CP Adeoye, the police cannot be everywhere but tricycle drivers are everywhere.

He urged the Keke drivers to volunteer information to the police when they witness anyone.

“It is the responsibility of the police to protect you and others.

”When we protect you, we are not doing you a favor but discharging our duties to you and the society.

“We are here to tell you that you are very important people. You are not a second-class citizen. We cannot tolerate anybody violating your rights in the state. As far as Anambra State Police command is concerned, we will protect you at all times, just help us with information,” he said.

In his remarks, the coordinator of Anambra State Keke drivers, AKDF, Comrade Osita Obi commended the commissioner of Police for the wonderful work he has been doing since he assumed office.

He described CP Aderemi Adeoye as one of the best Commissioner of Police in the state who has fought crimes and criminalities to a standstill.

According to him, since Adeoye took over the helm of Police affairs in Anambra state, the incidences of cult killings and others have drastically been reduced.

”The Commissioner of Police is hosting us but we are celebrating him for the good works he is doing in the state. The CP has done extremely well in the state and we must appreciate that by being law-abiding citizens,” he said.

He urged the Keke drivers to be law-abiding and stop blocking roads, thereby causing traffic obstructions.

According to him, the Keke drivers must partner with the police in the state by volunteering useful information to fight crimes.

He urged them not to hide any information from the police as the police cannot be everywhere at the same time.
