Kaduna Govt requests increased military presence in Tudun Biri due to insecurity

—

The Kaduna State Government has asked the military and the police to increase their presence in the Tudun Biri area due to threats while rebuilding after a bomb blast in December 2023.

Governor Uba Sani made this appeal during a meeting on Tuesday in Kaduna with traditional leaders and local government chairmen in key areas.

The governor highlighted the need for a focused approach in areas such as Kauru, Kajuru, Birnin Gwari, Igabi, Chikun, Kachia, Kagarko LGAs, and the Kaduna-Abuja Road, where peace had been disrupted by recent attacks.

He mentioned the reopening of security concerns along the Kaduna-Abuja road, urging renewed attention and coordination.

Governor Sani pointed out specific locations like Maganda, Kuyello, and villages around Buruku, Udawa, Damba, Kuriga, Polewire, where bandits and terrorists exploited vulnerabilities, conducting ambushes on citizens and security forces responding to distress calls.

To address security challenges, the government is considering establishing the Kaduna State Security Trust Fund, aiming to collaborate with corporate organizations, the business community, and stakeholders to provide material and logistical support for security forces.

Governor Sani emphasized the importance of deepening human intelligence networks for restoring peace along critical highways and troubled communities.

He expressed gratitude to security agencies for maintaining peace during the festive period and reiterated his commitment to the safety of lives and properties.

In pursuit of enhanced security, the governor revealed plans for the establishment of Forward Operating Bases (FOBs) in the state, working closely with the Defence Headquarters.

These FOBs are expected to expand campaigns against terrorists and bandits in frontline locations, reinforcing the government’s dedication to security and its Sustain Agenda.

The meeting included prominent figures like the Emirs of Zazzau, Birnin Gwari, Etsu Chikun, Agom Kachia, and the Chief of Kufana, as well as local government council chairmen.
