In a tragic turn of events, a non-academic staff member at Yobe State University, Hajiya Ummie Adamu Mammam, met an untimely demise at her residence in Damaturu, the capital of Yobe State.

The incident occurred on Wednesday night at New Bra-Bra Housing Estate along Gujba bypass road.

Hajiya Ummie, who served as a Faculty Officer at the university, reportedly fell victim to unknown gunmen who invaded her home.

According to a lecturer at the institution, the assailants are believed to be hired killers, adding a layer of complexity to the already distressing situation.

The lecturer, who shared the heartbreaking news, mentioned that Hajiya Ummie was not just a colleague but also a friend’s wife.

The chilling details unfolded as it was revealed that the unfortunate incident took place while she was peacefully sleeping at home.

Upon reaching out to the Head of Information at the State-owned University, confirmation of the tragic event was received.
