Governor of Ondo State, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN), is dead. The ailing governor died at the age of 67.
Political associates, family and top government sources confirmed his death on Wednesday morning 27th December 2023.
Akeredolu passed on after a prolonged fight with an undisclosed illness, though reports have it that he was down with leukaemia.
The governor had relinquished power to his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, on December 13, 2023 for him to travel to Germany for treatment after his health reportedly got worse.
He is survived by his wife, Betty, four children among many other relatives.
