In a tragic incident, some suspected hired assassins have carried out a brutal act, resulting in the untimely demise of Dr. David Adefikayo.
Dr. Adefikayo, who served as the Medical Director of Dafikayo Clinic, met a gruesome end at his residence located in Kanbi, within the Moro Local Government Area of Kwara State.
The assailants, believed to be professional killers hired for this heinous act, perpetrated the crime with extreme violence.
This distressing event has sent shockwaves through the community, marking a somber day for those acquainted with Dr. Adefikayo and his contributions to the medical field.
The investigation into this reprehensible crime is underway as authorities seek to bring the perpetrators to justice and provide closure to the grieving community.
The tragic incident unfolded at around 8:30 pm on Thursday, with the assailants breaking into the doctor’s home.
Shockingly, the doctor’s pleas for the gunmen to accept money went unanswered. Disturbingly, the medical officer was killed in the presence of his wife and children.
Adding to the distressing situation, the assailants also abducted one of the doctor’s daughters, Christiana Adejoke Alabi, aged 23.
The community is reeling from the shock and grief caused by the loss of Dr. Adefikayo, a well-respected figure who had made significant contributions to community healthcare.
Confirming the harrowing incident, Ejire Adeyemi-Adetoun, the spokesperson for the state police command, stated that the doctor was killed, and his 23-year-old daughter was abducted during the attack.
In response, the local police, led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) and other officers, have initiated a search operation in the surrounding bushes, hoping to apprehend the gunmen and potentially rescue the abducted daughter.
